Due to the inspiration of several blogs, I got involved in my local CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture. Our local organic co-op is Los Poblanos Organics and Tuesday we will pick up our first box and I will take and post pictures. You can check out the farm at their website,
it's a historic Spanish land grant farm that also operates an Inn.
I got my first indie perfume, or sniffy, order this week. It was from Possets and there are some scents that I LOVES and I'm not sure I can wait for them to age! Possets Flossing is the most romantic, quiet, comfortable and comforting scent ever! The ginger and pepper warm up the wood and vanilla till I just want to snuggle with my own wrist. I'm also awaiting the first order from Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs (BPAL for short), will post as soon as I get a chance to sniff them.
We got everything moved into the garage and there's still room for the car! I'm so impressed and happy to have a cover over my car. The sunshine out here is nice, but it's wicked bad to car finishes, upholstery and dashboards. Now, if I just had a personal assistant to take the car and have it detailed....oh well!
On my brand new interchangeable Denise needles (another beginning): just completed another pair of socks, a fair-isle patterned hat, a Clapotis wrap, a one-row scarf based on Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's pattern (I'm afraid this one is going to the frog pond). I'm just not happy with the interaction between the pattern and the yarn, rather it's the lack of interaction that bugs me. I love the yarn, a yummy blend of the colors of the french flag and the gold of the aristocracy during the French Revolution and the yarn is named after Madame DeFarge from Tale of Two Cities. It's been difficult to find a pattern that shows off this yummy yarn.
This picture is of an item (ha! Guess what it is and who it's for!) made from yarn dyed by the Yarn Nerd. Adam is a graduate student in engineering at the University of New Mexico and he makes some loverly yarns! I placed a maj-ah yarn order with Scout's Swag this week, it will finish out the remainder of the Christmas gift knitting. I have two more shrugs, four pairs of socks and two scarves sitting in the queue right now. Patterns have NOT been picked out for socks yet, but I'm working on that. Then I can start on my own sweaters! I need to finish the Printed Silk Cardigan by Connie Chang Chinchio; I don't know why I have a block against the sleeves on this thing, but I just haven't been able to pick them back up in a couple of months.
Hope y'all are enjoying your own beginnings. I'm off to sniff my arm, rub some yummy yarn all over me, and enjoy a Saturday with nothing pressing to do!

I don't know what goes with who, but I love that bright blue and white. That's pretty and I'm sure it's something cool, like a skull cap, for me to wear this winter.
What? Just guessing...
