Time, space and another dimension

Wow! Has it been so long since I posted? It's been busy at work (again) and I've been coming home and diving into knitting to think and veg in front of the tv set. I am a child of the 60's and the tv is my babysitter.

The subject of time also brings up that oh-so-special holiday that is on the horizon, Christmas. I've been working really hard to finish up the knitting bits in time to relax and enjoy the holidays; I'm so glad I was totally disciplined about getting this stuff done. I only have two more small gifts to make and plenty of time (knock on wood).

We've also been preparing for the visit of the parental units during the Christmas holidays. Both sets of royal parents will be spending the holidays with us. I've ordered beds and they and their linens have arrived. Now it's down to groceries, entertainment, and meal planning; not in that order. In New Mexico you can't have entertainment without food. I'm hoping there is a community posada in which we can participate. I'm also on the search for tamales and I'm going to make posole or green chile stew for Christmas eve.

Time and space work together in considering how far we are from each other.
  • 814 miles from my door to my parents
  • 633 miles from my door to my BFF's
  • 656 to my sister's house
  • 702 miles to the King's parents
My BFF is my waystation. She is the place I can stop on the way to or from just about anywhere family-related, we talk, giggle and consume a fair amount of vodka while playing with our crafts. This is a little shout-out for some good wishes to go her way. She is currently (this very moment) interviewing for a new job and needs all the karma, good wishes, prayers, spells, etc that you can send her way. Although I would miss the waystation benefits, ti would be so good for her to get the hell outta the place where she is so that she can heal and grow. Please send her your good thoughts.

The other dimension thing was just thrown in for good measure in case I totally left this one during my little writing exercise. It's also a line from a The Crystal Method song. Hope everyone is safe and happy in their own dimensions!

I wish my family was that close!
