Holy cow!

It's been so long since I've blogged that I'm ALMOST ashamed! This has been a busy, busy year!

I've settled into my new job that is not-so-new any more and things are running smoothly. We are facing some major budget cuts this year, but I don't think my office will suffer badly since we're already running so lean. I've changed the name of our center to more accurately reflect what we do, I'm working on offering more student support activities and I'm also working with the student council to offer at least two student-run week-long activities each year.

The home front is a moving target. There have been some major life changes that I'm not quite ready to announce publicly yet, because they haven't really completely sorted themselves out yet. One change I can discuss is that I'm moving to a new apartment in less than two weeks. I've been living in the extreme southern portion of the metroplex and that's gotten old. My life-long friends live north, my sister lives north, my mom is moving north as soon as she sells her house. And now that I've been here a year (can you believe it?) I've scoped out the good and bad parts of town and it appears that I've been living in the bad part of town. So, now I'm moving to the "other side of the tracks."

The apartment is packed...mostly. I still have to tackle the kitchen and bathroom, but all else is in a box, taped and labeled neatly and anxiously awaiting the movers. Yes, you read that right, I'm using movers this time. I'm too dang old and out of shape not to!

Well, that's the news that's fit to print. I will not wait nearly a year to post again...I promise!
